Developing Inclusive and Innovative Entrepreneurship Education in Europe

START IN is a project financed by CE under the program Erasmus+ which aims to design new tailor made tools and resources to address the identified needs, gaps and the main challenges of educating in social entrepreneurship and innovation. ZABALA participates in the project as a partner with the role of “internal evaluator” in order to seek for the excellence and as an expert on social innovation.

The Challenge: 

To develop new educational approaches to reduce the digital gap between educators and students, and improve learning and teaching practises in innovation-related skills, attitudes and knowledge all combining innovation in pedagogies, technologies and processes.

Solutions: 
To work on a methodology that rely on the following elements: Development of innovative educational products in the field of School Education for teacher training, development of innovative ICT-based educational tools on development of inclusive and innovative entrepreneurship education in schools, participatory collaboration within the partnership and capacity building sessions aimed at train teachers on the methodologies developed during the project to be piloted with school students.

Impacts: 

To solve the challenge START IN has defined 6 intellectual outputs (IO): An European Qualifications Framework (EQF) based Curriculum on inclusive and innovative entrepreneurship education (IO1) and a set of Training Modules (IO2) on Inclusive and Innovative Entrepreneurship Education (IIEE) for teacher training, a multilingual e-learning platform (IO4), with innovative e-Learning courses and Open Educational Resources (OER) on IIEE and a Guide (IO5) with recommendations to mainstream of IIEE in Europe.

The EC considers entrepreneurship as key for development in Europe. Considering Europe is facing new social challenges an stimulation of the “social entrepreneurship mindset” is needed in order to meet powerful and innovative solutions to those challenges. START IN works on that through education which is the basis of any performance what make a real positive impact at the European level.
