ZABALA, awarded for its contribution to the image of Europe
ZABALA Innovation Consulting has been awarded by the media "Aquí Europa" as "Spanish SME that has fostered the image of Europe in the world". The award will be presented on 29 November at a ceremony in the European Parliament to celebrate the 25th anniversary of "Here Europe" and recognize the work of those individuals and institutions who have worked for construction, unity and development of the EU from the entrance of Spain 30 years ago.
The jury which selected the winners of the different categories was chaired by Ramón Luis Valcárcel, Vice President of the European Parliament. In addition, composes Juana Lahousse-Juárez, Director General of Communication of Parliament, Ramon Jauregui, MEP and President of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly, Carlos Appelgren, former Ambassador of Chile to the EU, Nicolas Pascual Part, Ambassador COPS of Spain, and Marta Marin, delegate of Euskadi in Brussels.
In the category 'Spanish company that has promoted the image of Europe in the world', the jury has recognized the work of Telefónica, considered the largest telecommunications company in Europe and fifth globally.
The award dedicated to the 'Spanish Communicator for his career in favor of European integration' was awarded to Jaume Duch, European Parliament spokesman and director of media. This Catalan landed in the Parliament coinciding with the accession of Spain to the EU and has since been linked to the institution.
For the 'personality that has contributed to building the relationship Latin America-European Union', the winner is Ricardo Lagos, former president of the Republic of Chile. He held office between 2000 and 2006 and under his leadership the free trade agreement between Chile and the European Union was signed.
As for the 'Spanish personality who has helped European integration', the prize is multiplied to be divided among all Spaniards excomisarios. Abel Matutes, Marcelino Oreja, Manuel Marin, Pedro Solbes, Joaquin Almunia, Loyola de Palacio, represented by Ana Palacio, and Javier Solana as the first High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy are awarded for their contribution, each in its field, the community project.
